On Coruscant, Jaden Korr awakens from a force vision where he heard voices calling for help from a moon around an unknown planet. Understanding that this may allow him to come to terms with his relationship with the Force, he travels to Fhost where the path to his vision begins. Meanwhile, the Anzati assassin Kell Douro is summoned to Korriban by the One Sith where he is directed to go to Fhost where he will then find his way to an unknown planet. On Fhost, Jaden meets up with Khedryn Faal and Maar Idi-Shael, a salvage team who had discovered a mysterious signal in an unknown star system. Hiring them to take him to the source of the signal, they arrive at the planet in his vision in time for a ancient starship to come crashing out of hyperspace. While they are sitting there trying to learn something about what they are facing, a damaged escape pod attaches itself to their ship and a 5000 year old Jedi Master named Relin Druur boards their ship. Having no weapons, they flee into the planets ring system and they manage to shake off the Sith fighters before they are destroyed. Discussing their options, Jaden feels it is vitally important that he get to the surface of the moon to find out what his vision was about, and Relin feels that he must get back to the Harbinger in order to finish what he started and remove the threat of his former padawan, Saes. They decide that Khedryn will take Jaden to the moon and Maar will take Relin back to the Sith ship and then they will regroup. With the help of Maar's hidden Force abilities, Relin sneaks back onto Harbinger where he fights his way to the cargo hold full of lignan and his destiny and Maar barely escapes with his life and his ship. Setting the autopilot to take him to the moon's surface, he clings to life by the slimmest margin. On the moon, Jaden and Khedryn find an desolate Imperial research facility where Grand Admiral Thrawn had a team of scientists experimenting with cloning Jedi and Sith. Jaden sends Khedryn back to their shuttle while he continues on, and Khedryn encounters Kell Douro. Kell's goal is to feed on Jaden and so he lets Khedryn live ecen though he is severely wounded. Jaden finds the heart of the cloning facility and finds himself dueling with an insane clone of Kam Solusar. The encounter pushes him to the limits of his endurance, so when he kills the clone he is unprepared for the attack by Kell. As Kell is about to devour Jaden's essence, he realizes that his destiny ends there on the moon, just as Khedryn shoots him in the head. They hurry back to their shuttle with the hopes of stopping the remaining insane clones from escaping the planet, but arrive too late. As they watch the clones leave in Kell's ship, they witness the death of Harbinger after Relin succeeded in killing Saes and destroying the lignan. Maar arrives at the moon in time for them to save his life, and Jaden vows that he will stop the clones. Realizing that it is time for him to stop running from things, Khedryn volunteers to help.
