You know the story. Everybody knows the story. But what if the story changed - even just a little? What would happen to the characters? What would happen to the Star Wars galaxy?

With these fateful words, we are given a fascinating glimpse into the what-if's of the Star Wars universe. The premise for the "Infinities" line is: change one thing, just one minor thing, and see where the story now takes us. In A New Hope, that one minor change was a premature detonation of Luke Skywalker's proton torpedo on it's way down the exhaust vent to the reactor. As a result the Death Star isn't destroyed, but neither is it able to fire it's superlaser with sufficient power to destroy the moon with the Rebel base on it.

The "Infinities" line of comic books are among my favorite books. I don't know if I would go as far as top five, but I find they are very well written. The concept of these books is a really fun departure from previous stories and I think they were executed rather well. I especially liked the final showdown between the Emperor and Yoda, as well as the final use of the Death Star.
