New Update
Posted on March 26, 2010, 7:53 am by CloneEmperor
Well, quick update tonight. I just finished reading X-wing: Rogue Squadron again, so I wrote a quick commentary for it and added it to the site. It can be found right here if you are so inclined to read it. Also I finally got around to opening my Fine Molds Jedi Starfighter model kit and started building it. Little tip for all you amateur model builders out there like myself. The fact that the instructions are all in Japanese isn't too difficult to overcome. That there are over 170 decals to be applied to the model isn't even the most frustrating thing about it. No, what has me pulling my hair out is that, with time, waterslide decals will fuse to the backing. Normally, you place the decal in water for about 10 seconds, then let it sit for another 30 seconds after which it will slide right off the backing and right on to the model. Apparently though, after the sticker sheet is around three years old the decals begin to take longer to soak. This particular model is around 7 to 8 years old so the decals only come off the backing if they sit in water for at least 3-5 minutes. Occasionally it will even take up to 10 minutes of soaking and sitting, and even then they may not come off smoothly. On the bright side I don't believe I'll need to do anything to the model to give it the appearance of use. Of course I will post pictures once I'm finished.

In other news, I really like Lightbox. I am beginning to implement it throughout the site, replacing my current pop-up window. I should be done in a few days.
